Tonatiuh Pena Centeno has a diverse work experience history. Tonatiuh started as an Analista de telecomunicaciones at Banco de México in 1998 and continued in that role until 2001. In 2004, they worked as a Project Intern at Microsoft Research Cambridge. From 2006 to 2011, Tonatiuh was an Analista en matemáticas and later a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at Banco de México and Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald, respectively. In 2015, they became a Founding Member of Life-maps. Tonatiuh joined the DZNE - German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases in 2014 as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant and held various positions, including Bioinformatics and IT specialist and Head of bioinformatics core unit.
Tonatiuh Pena Centeno began their education in 1993 at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where they pursued a degree in Ingeniería, specializing in Electronica y comunicaciones. Tonatiuh successfully completed their studies in 1998. Tonatiuh then went on to continue their education at The University of Sheffield in 2001, where they pursued a Master of Science degree in Data Communications. Tonatiuh completed this program in 2002. Following their Master's degree, Tonatiuh continued their studies at The University of Sheffield and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science, completing their doctoral program in 2006.
