Florian Burkart is a senior scientist and deputy group leader in accelerator R&D at Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY since September 2017, serving as the machine coordinator for the R&D linear accelerator ARES and leading various projects. Previously, Florian Burkart worked as a postdoctoral researcher at CERN from May 2012 to September 2017, focusing on the design of beam transfer lines and equipment for the Future Circular Collider, as well as measuring injection losses at the LHC. Florian Burkart began a doctoral program that involved LHC machine protection, conducting material damage experiments and simulations. Florian Burkart holds a Master of Science degree in Physics from Goethe University Frankfurt.
