Dr Sassan Dieter Khatib-Shahidi

Dr Sassan Dieter Khatib-Shahidi has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Dr Sassan Dieter is the President of the Entrepreneurs' Organization - UAE Chapter since July 2023, where they have been actively involved since April 2015, serving in different capacities including President Elect, Board of Directors, Member Engagement Chair, and Board of Directors - Learning Chair.

Dr Khatib-Shahidi is also a Patron of Youths For Green Action Kenya, a young organization focused on environmental preservation and reforestation, since March 2022.

In 1999, they founded German Imaging Technologies (GIT) Dubai LLC, a company providing sustainable printing solutions. Dr Sassan Dieter served as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer until their departure date is unknown. Dr Sassan Dieter also held the role of Executive Director in the Board of Directors from January 2012 to January 2018. Additionally, they founded and served as the CEO and Director of German Imaging Technologies East Africa Ltd from March 2016, aiming to provide the same sustainable printing solutions to the East African market.

Alongside their entrepreneurial ventures, Dr Khatib-Shahidi co-founded 3L Pasterlerias Catering Services with their wife in July 2020. This specialty provider of Tres Leches cakes originated from Mexico and has gained popularity worldwide. Dr Sassan Dieter is currently serving in this role until January 2024.

Prior to their entrepreneurial pursuits, Dr Khatib-Shahidi worked as an Attorney at Law (Rechtsanwalt) at Coudert Brothers LLP from May 1999 to September 1999, and at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek from April 1994 to April 1999.

Dr Sassan Dieter Khatib-Shahidi has a diverse education history. Dr Sassan Dieter started their academic journey by obtaining a Law Degree from the University of Konstanz in 1993. Dr Sassan Dieter further enhanced their legal qualifications by completing the 2nd state examination, also known as Admittance to the BAR, at the State Court Frankfurt, Germany in 1997. In pursuit of their interest in international commercial law, they successfully achieved a PhD from the University of Konstanz in 1996.

In addition to their legal background, Dr Khatib-Shahidi has consistently pursued executive programs and courses to develop their entrepreneurial, business, and leadership skills. Dr Sassan Dieter completed an Executive Program focused on business at Harvard Business School in 2018. Dr Sassan Dieter also attended executive courses at London Business School in 2017 and the Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 2015. To further broaden their knowledge, they participated in an Executive Program at MIT Sloan School of Management in 2021. Additionally, they successfully completed a Master Class in Disciplined Entrepreneurship, Scaling & Antifragility at MIT Sloan School of Management in 2022.

Dr Khatib-Shahidi has also demonstrated an interest in empathy, emotional intelligence, and marketing analytics. Dr Sassan Dieter completed a BerkeleyX Certified Course on Empathy and Emotional Intelligence at Work at the University of California, Berkeley in 2021. Dr Sassan Dieter is planning to further expand their knowledge in marketing analytics by pursuing a course at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2024.
