Dr. Andrea Geipel

Dr. Andrea Geipel has a diverse and extensive work experience. Dr. Andrea worked at the Deutsches Museum from 2018 to the present, where they held several roles including Deputy Head of the Deutsches Museum Digital department and Head of VRlab. In these positions, they were responsible for coordinating various projects related to the museum's digitization strategy and focused on digital storytelling, science communication, and science education using 3D visualizations and online exhibitions. Dr. Andrea also founded the online course program "Meaning Making" on Digital Storytelling and co-founded the yearly symposia "Das digitale Objekt." Dr. Geipel also worked at the Technische Universität München from 2008 to 2018, where they served as a PhD Research Assistant, Research Assistant, and Undergraduate Research Assistant. Dr. Andrea was also a Researcher at the Munich Center for Internet Research from 2015 to 2017. Additionally, they had an internship at the Deutsches Museum in 2013 and worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Northeastern University in 2010.
