Helen Piel

Helen P. is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Deutsches Museum, involved in a project exploring the historical development of Artificial Intelligence research in West Germany. This role is part of a four-year initiative funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Prior experience includes a PhD Researcher position at the University of Leeds, where Helen focused on the archive of evolutionary biologist John Maynard Smith as part of a Collaborative Doctoral Partnership with the British Library. Helen has held various research and teaching positions, including developing projects, writing public-facing content, and contributing to academic courses, alongside a robust educational background in Arts and Culture, culminating in a Master’s degree from Maastricht University.
