Gemma Monté Rubio has extensive experience in the field of neuroimaging research. Gemma is currently the Head of Bioimaging at the Comparative Medicine and Bioimage Centre (CMCiB) at the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) since May 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Neuroimaging Research Specialist at the Institute of Neurosciences of the University of Barcelona from November 2019 to June 2022. Gemma also served as the Head of Neuroimaging at Fundació ACE from March 2017 to July 2019. Gemma has held various research positions including Postdoctoral Researcher at Universitat de Barcelona from December 2016 to March 2017, Researcher at IDIBAPS from December 2014 to November 2016, Researcher at FIDMAG Research Foundation from April 2009 to December 2014, and Researcher at Fundació Clínic per a la Recerca Biomèdica from April 2005 to March 2009.

Gemma Monté Rubio holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomedicine and Biomedical Engineering from the Universidad de Barcelona. Gemma also obtained a Licenciatura de Física from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Additionally, they have certifications in "Cómo desactivar la comunicación tóxica" and "Fundamentos de la gestión del tiempo" from LinkedIn, which were obtained in 2021.

Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP)

The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) is a public research centre located in Badalona. Its main objective is to increase scientific knowledge in order to transform it into solutions to improve the health and medical care of patients and the community. The Institute is associated with one of the major university hospitals in the Barcelona area, the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, and is part of the Can Ruti biomedical campus. IGTP is a CERCA centre and is also accredited as a centre of excellence by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) and is in charge of coordinating the management and scientific strategy of the campus, working in close collaboration with the other centres. The mission of the IGTP is to be a centre of excellence that forms the backbone of a multidisciplinary and multi-institutional environment, allowing for cutting-edge translational research and innovation aimed at solving health challenges, from the prevention to the cure of diseases.
