Axel Lohse

Axel Lohse has a diverse background in economic development and business promotion. Axel worked at Germany Trade & Invest as the Deputy Director and Head of Medical Biotechnology & Pharma for the HEALTH MADE IN GERMANY initiative. Axel also held the role of Specialist Development & Controlling at the same organization, where they were involved in project management, business controlling, and supporting strategic development. Prior to this, Axel worked as a Conference Interpreter at an undisclosed company from 2010 to 2015. Axel also worked as a Project Trainee at Invest Region Leipzig, where they focused on attracting commercial direct investment and promoting Leipzig. Additionally, Axel held positions at the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce, NRW.Invest Russia, and UNISTER Holding GmbH.

Axel Lohse completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Translation Studies at Leipzig University from 2007 to 2010. Axel then pursued their Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Conference Interpreter at Leipzig University from 2010 to 2013. As a part of their education, they also studied abroad for a semester at Faculdad de Traducción e Interpretación de Granada in 2009-2010, focusing on Translation Studies. In 2013-2014, Axel participated in a semester abroad program at Saint Petersburg State University, where they engaged in the field of International Relations. Finally, they completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in European Economic Integration/ Central and Eastern Europe at Leipzig University from 2012 to 2015.
