Job Overview: You’ll be part of the team of leading experts in the Life Sciences environments who pride themselves on core values of grit, integrity, ownership, and innovation. Engineering develops innovative solutions that make an impact out in the real world. You will engineer solutions for mobile and modular laboratories in the Biopharma, Biocontainment and Pharmacy industries. Apply Mechanical Design principles to create expert environments that can be deployed around the globe. Utilize tools such as AutoCAD and SolidEdge to model the products and generate specification documents and drawing packages that facilitate fabrication, assembly, and testing. Support internal and external customers throughout project life cycles to meet time, cost, and performance targets.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Design products to meet customer requirements through calculation and 3D modeling,
  • Assist Production and Service with troubleshooting during product builds and laboratory operation,
  • Create and review component and product design/build drawings,
  • Create and maintain assembly BOMs,
  • Develop internal operating procedures and standards,
  • Perform tasks to assist other departments,
  • Other reasonably related duties.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to design structural assemblies, HVAC and Plumbing systems,
  • Mechanical Designer level with a working knowledge of basic mechanical design,
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing theory and processes,
  • 2D and 3D design competency,
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills,
  • Team-oriented to achieve company objectives,
  • Detail-oriented with high degree of accuracy,
  • Knowledge of nationally recognized engineering standards, drafting standards and techniques as well as manufacturing materials,
  • Professional manner with excellent interpersonal skills,
  • Microsoft Office Suite, and Internet research skills,
  • Excellent organizational and process skills,
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities,
  • Mechanical ability and visual aptitude,
  • Solid work ethic,
  • Good judgement,
  • Familiarity with project planning, milestones, and deadlines.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with sheet metal, fabrication methods, standard fasteners, strength of materials, and construction /assembly methods desired.

Education and Experience:

  • Trained in a technical field (Associates Degree a plus),

  • 4 - 6 years Mechanical Design experience,

  • Experienced in 2D and 3D design and drawing using SolidEdge, Solid Works, AutoCAD or other similar Design software,

  • Hands-on mechanical assembly, fabrication, or repair experience a plus.
