Scott Fischer

Scott Fischer has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Scott began their career as a Systems Administrator at United Defense in 1992 and worked there for five years. In 1997, they joined eWatch as the Director of IT and later transitioned to become a Systems Management Consultant at Collective Technologies in 1998. Scott then moved to IBM in 2001, where they worked as an IT Architect for seven years.

In 2008, Scott joined Gertens as the Director of Technology, Security, and Compliance. Their responsibilities included overseeing technology aspects of the retail garden center, managing servers, workstations, point-of-sale systems, applications, phones, networking, and security. Scott also served as a supervisor for the information technology and telecommunications teams and acted as a consultant for Lean Management projects and back-office automation.

Scott's most recent role was with Guiding Star Wakota, where they joined the Board of Directors in 2016. Scott was elected as the Board President in October 2017. During their tenure, they spearheaded a major fundraising effort and facilitated the expansion of educational services focused on holistic women's health care. This effort culminated in the groundbreaking of a new 10,000 square foot building on the organization's existing site in Spring 2020. Scott's term with Guiding Star Wakota ended in April 2021.

Scott Fischer attended the University of Minnesota from 1985 to 1991, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
