Nekia Moorehead is an experienced education professional currently serving as the Special Education Coordinator at KIPP Memphis Collegiate Middle School since June 2020. Additionally, Nekia has held the position of Interventionist at Gestalt Community Schools since July 2016 and served as the TEIS and SPED Compliance Lead at Memphis Scholars from January 2019 to June 2020. Prior roles include working as an Interventionist at Gestalt Community Schools and as the Lead Teacher at Walnut Grove Correctional Facility, where responsibilities included facilitating academic screenings and ensuring curriculum alignment. Nekia began a career in telecommunications as a Sales Associate at BellSouth Telecommunications Inc. and earned a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from Jackson State University between 2012 and 2015.
