Tanika Reiss is an experienced instructional coach and biology teacher at Gestalt Community Schools, holding the position since July 2011. Recognized as a Level 5 Instructor by the Tennessee Value Added Assessment System (TVAAS), Tanika played a pivotal role in increasing biology scores at the school from 56% during the 2011-2012 academic year. With a background that includes teaching at Score At The Top Learning Centers & Schools and Shelby County Schools from 2001 to 2012, Tanika has a proven track record of engaging diverse learners through technology and hands-on activities, while also providing support for first-generation college students. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Education from Union University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Indiana University Bloomington.
