Derlen Chiu

Derlen Chiu has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 2022, Derlen joined April (getapril.com) as the VP of Product. Prior to that, from January 2022 to June 2022, Derlen worked as a Senior Director of Product Management at April. In 2009, Derlen founded The Soccer CEO and served as both the founder and writer for the company. From January 2021 to January 2022, Derlen worked in product management at Axoni. Previously, from January 2019 to January 2021, Derlen worked at Plaid as a product manager, contributing to the company's mission of delivering access to the financial system. From April 2015 to January 2019, Derlen held the position of VP Data Product at Quovo. Prior to that, from September 2014 to February 2015, Derlen served as the Director of Platform at FinTech Collective, Inc., a venture capital fund focused on financial technology. In 2013, Derlen worked as a Fall Associate at Bowery Capital, an enterprise software-focused venture capital fund. During the same year, Derlen was a Business Development Intern at NYU-Poly Incubator, where they developed and launched a mentorship program for startups. From February 2011 to July 2012, Derlen worked as an Operations Manager at NYSE, overseeing corporate actions and internal software development. Lastly, from March 2009 to January 2011, Derlen co-founded SportRocker, a sports media gamification app, where they led business and product development efforts.

Derlen Chiu received a BA in Economics from Case Western Reserve University, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Furthermore, they pursued an MBA with a focus on Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship & Innovation at NYU Stern School of Business from 2012 to 2014.
