Scott Akers

Scott Akers has a strong background in marketing and brand strategy. Scott is currently the Senior Vice President of Brand at Upside since August 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Capital One where they held the positions of Vice President of Marketing from 2017 to 2022 and Senior Director, Consumer Bank Marketing from 2017 to 2022. From 2014 to 2016, they served as a Senior Brand Strategist at Capital One. Before joining Capital One, they were the Vice President of Partnership Marketing at Team Services LLC, a strategic marketing agency specializing in sports, from 2006 to 2014. Scott also has teaching and coaching experience, having worked as an Upper School Teacher & Coach at The John Carroll School from 2004 to 2006. Scott started their career as a Fixed Income Analyst at Morgan Stanley from 2002 to 2004.

Scott Akers earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management in 2011. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics from Duke University. Additionally, they participated in a study abroad program at The University of Queensland.
