Ton Dhondt

Ton Dhondt is a highly experienced psychiatrist currently serving as a psychiatrist at GGZ Noord-Holland-Noord in the elderly psychiatric inpatient clinic since September 2024. Concurrently, Ton holds the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Hospice Alkmaar since December 2020. Previously, Ton was a member of the Executive Board at GGZ Friesland from May 2017 to July 2024 and the director of VICINO, a regional organization focusing on mental health support, from January 2017 to May 2017. Ton's extensive career at GGZ NHN spanned from 1997 to 2017, during which Ton held various roles including Geriatric Psychiatrist and Director of specialized departments. Ton has also contributed as Chairman of the Supervisory Board at the Nederlands Kenniscentrum Ouderenpsychiatrie from April 2009 to 2011 and has held multiple psychiatry resident positions between 1991 and 1996. Ton earned an MD in Medicine from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a PhD in Psychiatry from the same institution, furthering education at Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2012.
