Andrew Cottrell

Andrew approaches the design process as a continuous dialogue. As a designer, he excels at listening to his clients’ goals and translating them into highly functional and inspirational designs. At Ghafari, he guides the Dearborn Design Group, promoting a human-centered design philosophy aimed at bringing stories to life through space. He is also one of the firm’s leading champions of virtual and augmented reality technologies.

With nearly 25 years of experience that encompasses architecture, master planning, and graphic design, Andrew has developed a well-rounded portfolio of commercial, retail, mixed-use, residential, and manufacturing facilities. He has collaborated with many clients on a broad spectrum of interior programming and space planning projects ranging from small, single-tenant spaces to large, multi-story buildings with complex programs.

Andrew holds a Master of Architecture from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science in architecture from Lawrence Technological University. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
