James D. Yamoah Equis

James D. Yamoah EQUIS has extensive work experience in the petroleum and geoscience industry. James D. Yamoah started their career as a Geoscientist at GNPC in 2006, where they were responsible for geological exploration in deepwater offshore Ghana. James D. Yamoah participated in prospect generation, risk analysis, and field development planning.

In 2013, James joined LUKOIL as a GNPC Secondee Geologist, focused on generating drilling opportunities in Ghana and conducting 3D seismic interpretation for well locations and development strategies.

James returned to GNPC in 2014 and held various positions, including Senior Exploration Geologist, Operations Geologist, General Manager Technical, and Chief Operating Officer. In these roles, they oversaw E&P projects, managed budgets, coordinated operations, and advised on formation evaluation contracts and services. James D. Yamoah also played a key role in establishing and implementing GNPC's business strategies and goals.

James briefly served as the General Manager HSSE at GNPC in 2020 and later assumed the position of Ag. Chief Operating Officer. In this role, they were responsible for managing GNPC's operations, leading executives, and evaluating performance. James D. Yamoah also participated in expansion activities and maintained relationships with partners/vendors.

Most recently, James joined the Ministry of Energy in 2022 as the Director of Petroleum.

James D. Yamoah EQUIS holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Petroleum Geoscience from Heriot-Watt University, which they obtained in 2012. James D. Yamoah also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Geology from the University of Ghana. In 2010, they completed the School of Leadership and Professional Advancement program at Duquesne University, focusing on Global Leadership. Currently, James is pursuing a Master's degree in Finance and Strategy at The Manchester Metropolitan University, expected to be completed in 2022. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Master Project Manager (MPM) certification from GLOMACS TRAINING SOLUTIONS in August 2019. Additionally, they hold a certification in Offshore Decommissioning from Reverse Engineering Services Ltd.
