Charles Smith

Charles Smith is an experienced professional in environmental planning and management, currently serving as the Business Group Leader for Natural Resources & Impact Assessment at GHD since March 2020. Previously, Charles held roles such as Senior Environmental Planner and Project Manager at Environmental Science Associates, where leadership of the Irvine, California office was a key responsibility. Charles also contributed significantly at ICF as Senior Vice President of the Environmental Planning Division, overseeing various leadership roles in planning and development. Charles's career began at URS Corporation as a Principal Environmental Planner, and military service includes time as an Administrative Officer and First Lieutenant in the United States Army. Charles holds a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from USC Marshall School of Business.
