Simon Light

CEO, EMEA at GHD

Simon Light is the current CEO of EMEA at GHD. Simon has over 20 years of experience in the industry, having previously worked as Executive Director Client Development at Arcadis and Partner at EC Harris.

During their time at EC Harris, Simon was responsible for leading the company's sales force and securing new sales worth $30 million per year. Simon also played a key role in establishing and implementing market entry strategies for EC Harris into Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Some of the major clients and projects Simon has worked on include Saudi Aramco, King Abdullah Petroleum and Research Centre (US$1 billion), Majid Al Futtaim's Mirdif City Centre (US$1 billion), Al Tayer's Bloomingdales store in Dubai Mall (US$75 million), and Mubadala's Sowwah Square in Abu Dhabi (US$1.5 billion).

Simon Light has a certificate of corporate governance from the INSEAD, an executive digital leadership program from the Vlerick Business School, and is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Simon also has an executive leadership program from Henley Business School and a BSc in quantity surveying from Edinburgh Napier University.

Their manager is Ashley Wright, Enterprise CEO. Simon Light works with Warren Traves - Chief Risk Officer, Sheldon Krahe - General Manager, Western Australia, and Denise Anderson - Regional Principal, US Mid-Continent.
