Mary Shiels

Mary Shiels has a diverse and extensive work experience in communications and PR roles. Mary currently holds the position of Global Communications Director at ghd, where they have been since October 2022. Mary previously worked at ghd as the Global Head of PR & Corporate Affairs from July 2020 to October 2022, and as the Global Head of PR from May 2017 to July 2020. Before joining ghd, Mary was the Head of PR - UK & Ireland at ghd, where they set up the in-house PR department and led its growth from November 2015 to May 2017. Prior to ghd, Mary worked as a Senior Communications Manager at PZ Cussons Beauty, managing the global and UK PR for leading brands St. Tropez and Sanctuary Spa from February 2014 to October 2015. Mary also held the role of Communications Manager at PZ Cussons Beauty from August 2011 to February 2014. Mary's earlier experience includes being a Senior Account Manager at Neville McCarthy Associates, where they managed the beauty team and worked with clients such as Melvita and Clive Christian Perfume from July 2009 to August 2011. Mary started their career as an Account Manager at Modus Publicity in 2008.

Mary Shiels attended Loreto RC Girls School from 1996 to 2003. Mary then went on to study at Leeds Beckett University from 2003 to 2007, where they obtained a BA degree in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication.
