Mabel Vargas holds a Master's degree in Business and Information Technology from the University of Melbourne, which they completed from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the Catholic University of Colombia. In 2016 and 2017, they pursued a Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management at Victoria University.
