Michael Schmalz

Michael Schmalz is a dedicated Pediatric Gastroenterologist at GI Associates, where a strong emphasis is placed on patient-focused care and family education since August 2020. Prior to this role, Michael completed a Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic from July 2017 to June 2020 and served as a Pediatric Resident at Western Michigan University from July 2014 to June 2017. Michael's experience in the field began as an Endoscopy Technician at GI Associates from August 2001 to July 2010, where assistance was provided to physicians during endoscopic procedures and patient education was facilitated. Michael holds an MB Bch BAO degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, a Master of Public Health from the Medical College of Wisconsin, and a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from Marquette University.
