David Battaglia

David Battaglia is a Senior Partner at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, with a career spanning over three decades since joining the firm in September 1987. Battaglia possesses substantial and diverse industry experience, serving as lead litigator in various corporate control contests, hostile takeovers, and related securities and antitrust litigation, while also navigating investigations by the DOJ, SEC, and state government. Prior to this role, Battaglia worked as a Legislative Assistant for the U.S. Congress in the House of Representatives from January 1981 to May 1984, where responsibilities included drafting legislation, advising committee counsel, and liaising with lawmakers and constituents. Academically, Battaglia holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University, where a double major in Government and English was earned, graduating magna cum laude.
