Franco Cassar Manghi

Franco Cassar Manghi has a strong background in software development and technical architecture, with experience in various industries. Franco is currently an Engineering Lead at giffgaff, where they lead a team of engineers in modernizing core airtime platforms and implementing new eligibility capabilities. Franco is also involved in advancing the software architecture across teams and domains. Prior to giffgaff, Franco worked at Vodafone as a Senior Technical Architect and Lead Software Developer/Technical Architect, where they focused on designing and delivering microservices architectures and building an OpenID auth server. Franco also spent time at Fortytwo Telecom as a Software Developer, developing new components and automating operational tasks. Earlier in their career, Franco worked at Bank of Valletta plc as a Software Developer, working on various systems and integration projects, and at CasaSoft as a Software Developer, starting as a Junior Frontend Web Developer and eventually working on backend logic and scripting.

Franco Cassar Manghi completed their education in a diverse range of fields. Franco began by earning their Ordinary Level degree at Stella Maris College from 2003 to 2008, studying subjects such as English, Maltese, Italian, Computing, Mathematics, Physics, Religion, and Accounts. Franco then pursued their Advanced Levels at the University of Malta Junior College from 2008 until 2010, focusing on subjects like Computing, Physics, English, Systems of Knowledge, Pure Mathematics, and Philosophy. Manghi furthered their education with a Higher National Diploma in Computing (Software Development) at Mcast from 2010 to 2012. Franco then completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Hons.) in Computer Science at the University of Hertfordshire between 2012 and 2014. Most recently, they earned their Master of Science (MS) degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Malta, where they studied from 2018 to 2020.
