Fleet Technician at GIG Car Share

Skylar K. has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. They began their career in 2013 as a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks, where they assisted in executing store operations. In 2016, they worked in Fleet Operations at Flawless Services, LLC, an automotive fleet maintenance company.

In 2017, Skylar held the role of a Warehouse Associate at Blue Tiger Inc, where they completed and coordinated day-to-day operational functions. They also worked as a Market Associate at Target during this time. In 2018, Skylar returned to Blue Tiger Inc as a Warehouse Associate and later served as the President of the Queer Cooperative Club at Seattle Central College, where they focused on building a safe and accepting community for sexual and gender minority students.

In 2019, Skylar worked at iClick as a Processing Lead, where they supervised the daily production schedule and organized workflow. They also served as a Library Circulation Assistant at Seattle Central College during this time. In 2021, Skylar joined Wonolo as a General Contractor, working in retail, merchandising, and warehouse fulfillment.

Currently, Skylar is employed at GIG Car Share as a Fleet Technician. Their responsibilities include repositioning cars, cleaning and refueling them, and shuttle services for maintenance and repairs. Skylar has demonstrated flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to creating inclusive communities throughout their various roles.

Skylar K. began their education at Upland High School in 2003 and completed their General Studies diploma in 2005. They then attended Hillside High School from 2005 to 2006, where they obtained their High School Diploma in General Studies. In 2018, Skylar K. enrolled at Seattle Central College and pursued an Associate of Arts Direct Transfer Agreement (AA DTA) degree with a focus on General Studies and emphasis on Global Studies. They completed this degree in 2020.

In terms of additional certifications, Skylar K. obtained a Certified Peer Counselor certification from the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services in November 2018. In January 2019, they earned a certification in HIV/AIDS Brief Risk Intervention & Blood Borne Pathogens from Seattle Central College. Later, in August 2019, Skylar K. obtained a Care Navigation and Coordination Vocational Certificate from the same institution. Additionally, they completed an externship at the AT&T Summer Learning Academy in July 2020 and obtained a BLS (basic life support) certification from the National CPR Foundation in the same month.
