Orlie Yaniv has extensive experience in the field of government affairs and public policy, with a focus on cybersecurity and information technology.
From 1999 to 2006, Yaniv worked as a Researcher at the RAND Corporation.
In 2006, Yaniv joined the United States Department of Defense as the Director of the Globalization Task Force, where they developed strategies and initiatives to manage risks associated with the globalization of the ICT sector. They also played a key role in analyzing and mitigating national security risks in various ICT-related transactions and license applications.
Yaniv then joined the Department of Defense's Office of the Chief Information Officer in 2008 as a Special Assistant for Interagency Activities to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (IIA). In this role, they led a team that developed the DoD Cyber Investment Framework and represented the Department in the Executive Coordination Group of the Enduring Security Framework.
In 2012, Yaniv served as a Special Assistant for Internet Governance in the Office of the Deputy CIO for Cybersecurity at the United States Department of Defense. They managed the DoD's Internet governance program and represented the Department at various Internet governance forums.
During the same period, Yaniv also worked at FireEye, Inc. as the Senior Director of Government Affairs and Policy. They established and grew the company's government affairs capability, providing advice on corporate risk and opportunity related to policy and legislative initiatives. Yaniv also served on the Executive Committee of the IT Sector Coordinating Council.
In 2016, Yaniv founded their own consultancy firm, Orlie Yaniv Strategies LLC. The company provided government affairs and public policy consulting services to cybersecurity and IT companies, with a focus on clients in the cybersecurity industry.
Yaniv has also been involved in advisory roles, serving as a Member of the Federal Advisory Board at Cylance Inc. from 2017 to 2019.

Orlie Yaniv has a strong educational background in law and international relations. In 1990, Yaniv earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Emory University. Following this, Yaniv attended the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law from 1990 to 1993, where they obtained a Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
