Richard Hepburn

Richard Hepburn is an experienced professional with a strong background in sales engineering and technical consulting. Richard started their career in 1988 at Boeing Computer Support Services, where they worked as a Network Engineer. Richard then moved on to positions at I-Net Inc as a Network Engineer, Carolina Power and Light as a Data Communications Engineer, and Network General as a Senior Systems Engineer.

In 1998, Hepburn joined Ganymede Software Inc. as a Senior Systems Engineer, where they played a crucial role in introducing new network application monitoring solutions to the US and APAC markets. Richard also liaised between the sales and marketing/development teams, contributed to product enhancements, and assisted in creating manuals and training materials.

Hepburn's career continued at NetIQ as a Strategic Alliance Manager, where they managed the strategic relationship between NetIQ, Spirent, Cisco, and Nortel. Richard'sresponsibilities included recruiting partners with specific VoIP business models and promoting NetIQ's VoIP performance monitoring solutions to drive sales and business opportunities.

Richard later worked at SyncVoice Communications as a Strategic Alliance Manager and Niksun as a Senior Solutions Engineer, providing pre/post sales support for network performance monitoring, security, and compliance solutions.

From 2009 to 2013, Hepburn worked at CA Technologies (acquired NetQoS) as a Principal Consultant in their Service Assurance Business Unit. Richard served as a technical representative for NetQoS performance monitoring solutions, providing field sales technical support in the Southeast US.

Currently, they are employed at Gigamon as a Senior Sales Engineer. In this role, they are responsible for creating client awareness and requirements for Gigamon's network and application performance monitoring solutions, as well as their security solutions. Hepburn performs demos, proofs of concept, and provides training and support at industry trade shows.

Throughout their career, Hepburn has received numerous accolades, including being recognized as a top seller (President's Club) for eight out of ten years at Gigamon.

Richard Hepburn obtained a BA degree in Economics from the University of Maryland, which they pursued from 1979 to 1983. Additionally, they have acquired various certifications throughout their career. In 1991, they became a Certified Banyan Engineer (CBE) from Banyan Systems Inc. Later in 1995, they obtained CNX Certifications in Ethernet, Token Ring, and FDDI from Network General. In 2013, they became GigaTech Certified from Gigamon. Furthermore, Richard obtained several recent certifications, including the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in July 2022, the VMware vSphere 7 Professional: 01 Networking from LinkedIn in July 2022, and the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft in March 2023.
