Anand Chokkalingam

Anand Chokkalingam serves as the Executive Director and Head of Real World Evidence for Virology at Gilead Sciences, where responsibilities include leading global efforts in HIV, Viral Hepatitis, COVID-19, RSV, and other viral diseases. Previous roles at Gilead include Senior Director positions in Clinical Development, focusing on real-world evidence collection and regulatory interactions for drugs such as remdesivir and Sovaldi®. Anand’s extensive experience also encompasses leadership in epidemiology and consulting roles across multiple organizations, including the University of California, Berkeley, and the National Cancer Institute. With a strong academic background including a Ph.D. in Epidemiology, multiple publications, and a history of collaborative research, Anand has made significant contributions to the understanding of epidemiology in both clinical and public health contexts.
