Isabella Germek

Isabella Germek is a Senior Research Associate I in Medicinal Chemistry at Gilead Sciences, focusing on the discovery, design, and synthesis of small molecule preclinical drug targets since July 2020. Previous experience includes a Medicinal Chemistry Research Associate role and student assistant position at UC Berkeley College of Chemistry, where responsibilities involved lab support and maintenance for organic chemistry courses. Isabella contributed to natural product synthesis as an undergraduate researcher in the Maimone Group and served as a teaching assistant and research assistant at Laney College, fostering a strong foundation in chemistry through tutoring and investigation of synthetic methods. Isabella holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and has additional language proficiency from the University of Zagreb.
