Karl Domjahn is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in propulsion and mechanical systems design. Currently serving as the Deputy (Acting Head) of Propulsion and Lead Propulsion Engineer at Gilmour Space Technologies since May 2019, Karl specializes in developing hybrid and liquid rocket engine systems. Prior to this role, Karl worked at Boeing Defence Australia as a Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer, contributing to the interoperability upgrade for the 737 Wedgetail aircraft. Karl's involvement in the aerospace community includes serving as the National Secretary and State Representative for the Australian Youth Aerospace Association, where efforts focused on organizing events and developing strategic plans. Karl also has academic experience as a Teaching Assistant at The University of Queensland and conducted research at DLR while completing a Master Thesis on flight load measurement systems. Karl holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Master of Engineering from The University of Queensland, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University.
