Nita Madhav

Nita Madhav is a seasoned expert in epidemiology and modeling, currently serving as Senior Director and Head of Epidemiology & Modeling at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc. since August 2022. With extensive experience in digital biothreat intelligence and computational epidemiology, Nita leads multiple funded projects involving organizations such as the CDC, DOD, and Gates Foundation, successfully securing over $20 million in funding. Prior experience includes serving as CEO of Metabiota, where Nita oversaw a globally distributed team and facilitated the acquisition of the company's technology by Ginkgo Bioworks. Previous roles span various leadership positions in data science and infectious disease modeling at AIR Worldwide, and early research work at the CDC and Yale University. Nita holds a BS in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and History from Yale University and an MSPH in Epidemiology from Emory University.
