Sophia Tabchouri

Sophia Tabchouri serves as the Group Lead for AI for Genetic Medicines at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc. since April 2024. Prior to this role, Sophia held multiple positions at Reverie Labs, including Applied Machine Learning Lead, Senior Machine Learning Engineer, and Machine Learning Engineer, contributing to preclinical drug development utilizing machine learning from August 2019 to April 2024. Previous experience includes serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at MIT CSAIL, where Sophia developed computer vision techniques for chemistry, and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at both the MIT Media Lab, focusing on motor design for prosthetics, and the Drennan Crystallography Lab, where Sophia worked on enzyme crystallization and analysis. Sophia completed a Master of Engineering in Computer Science at MIT in 2019, building upon a Bachelor's degree from the same institution earned in 2018.
