Seth Marcus has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple industries. Seth started their career as an intern at Gannett Outdoor Marketing Group in 1995, where they gained valuable experience. Seth then interned at Broome County, NY Department of Planning before moving on to work as a Web Developer at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in 1997.
In 1998, Seth became the GIS Manager at the City of Cayce Department of Planning, where they successfully deployed and managed the city's first Geographic Information System. Following this, Seth joined Aspen Systems Corp. in 1999 as a GIS Coordinator and Database Analyst. During their time there, they provided training and technical assistance for GIS users and coordinated the development of HUD's first database of homeless grant performance data.
In 2001, Seth transitioned to HUD as a Social Science Analyst, where they developed the Picture of Subsidized Households website and directed a mail survey that led to improved housing quality regulations. In 2008, they became the Branch Chief for the Community Planning and Development Systems Division, managing IT systems and contracts responsible for administering over $7 billion in grants.
In 2012, Seth joined the U.S. Government, Department of Health & Human Services, HRSA, as the Branch Chief of System Development for the Bureau of Health Workforce. Their responsibilities included conceptualizing and implementing innovative technology solutions and digital services. Seth also served as the Director of HRSA Data Warehouse, overseeing the development of health care locators and business intelligence tools.
Currently, Seth is working at Ginnie Mae as the Director of Enterprise Data. Seth leads a team of data scientists in delivering analytics solutions and developing and enhancing Ginnie Mae's data infrastructure. Seth also provides data visualizations and insights to support policy and program decisions.
Seth Marcus, FAC-PPM3, holds a master's degree in Geography from the University of South Carolina, which they obtained from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, they obtained their bachelor's degree in Geography and History from Binghamton University, between 1993 and 1997. Furthermore, Seth Marcus has also obtained the certification of FAC-P/PM Level 3 (Senior/Expert) from the Federal Acquisition Institute in November 2012.
