Rita Mbeba

Rita Mbeba is an experienced public health professional currently serving as Country Director and Programme Lead at Girl Effect since February 2023, where responsibilities include overseeing the Country team and managing the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of projects. Prior to this role, Rita worked as a Senior Portfolio Technical Advisor for Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health at Pathfinder International from November 2022 to February 2023. Rita's extensive background also includes serving as Projects Lead at Marie Stopes International from August 2015 to November 2022, overseeing a portfolio of donor-funded projects in Tanzania with significant financial oversight. Earlier career positions include Project Manager at AMREF from January 2011 to June 2015, and Evaluation Officer at Muhimbili University from October 2007 to October 2009. Rita holds a Global Executive MBA in Health, Leadership and Management from the United States International University in Africa and multiple degrees in Public Health from institutions such as MUHAS and the University of Dar es Salaam.
