Apurva Vurity

Apurva Vurity is an experienced professional in gender inclusion and development communications, currently serving as the India Program Manager at Girl Rising since September 2023. Vurity has held various managerial roles at Dasra from September 2021 to March 2024 and has also worked as Development Communications Manager at Prerana. Previous experiences include Community Manager for The MTV Staying Alive Foundation, Gender & Communications Manager at Girl Effect, and Strategic Partnerships at Humans of Bombay. Vurity's expertise extends to conducting POSH awareness sessions and building gender-inclusive policies with The Gender Blanket, as well as political analysis with I-PAC. An internship at the United Nations Information Center provided additional experience in press coordination and gender mainstreaming. Vurity holds a Master's degree in Women's Studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Calcutta.
