Grace Farley

Development Lead at Girls Empowerment Network

Education:

Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Arts in Plan II Honors from the University of Texas at Austin

Master of Social Work, Social Policy, and Social Administration from the University of Chicago

Experience: Grace is a social worker, fundraiser, and proud advocate for gender justice from Fort Worth, Texas. She began her journey at the Girls Empowerment Network as a Direct Service Intern before joining the staff as the Development Lead in September 2024.

Her passion for empowering youth stems from her experience as a first-generation college student. While at the University of Texas at Austin, Grace served as a Resident Assistant and led the inaugural First-Generation Student Living Learning Community. Her efforts to create inclusive residential programming earned her the President's Leadership Award from Texas Exes.

During her social work field placement at the UChicago Network for College Success, Grace supported educators in their professional development to better serve young people and help them achieve their postsecondary goals.

Grace gained valuable experience at the intersection of fundraising and public policy through her time as a UT System Archer Fellow and Development Intern at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities in Washington, D.C.

Most recently, she served as the Community Philanthropy Manager at Every Texan, where she managed key operations related to fundraising and stewardship activities, focusing on individual and corporate donors and the administration of the department.

What I love about Girls Empowerment Network: I love that Girls Empowerment Network is girl- and youth-centered, which allows for young people to be the experts of their own lives and experiences. As a young person, I rarely had access to spaces where I felt comfortable to be my authentic self in community with other girls. During my internship at Girls Empowerment Network, I was honored to facilitate Radiant G Circles and create spaces where girls and gender expansive youth could develop their sense of self-efficacy through fun and engaging activities with their peers. As the Development Lead, I am excited to connect adult allies to opportunities to partner with Girls Empowerment Network as we lead programs that ignite girl power all over the state of Texas.
