Aki Asahara

Aki Asahara has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 2001, they began their career as a Research fellow at Kyoto University, where they focused on high Energy gamma-ray simulation using C/C++, FORTRAN, and Linux.

In 2004, Asahara joined IBM Japan as a Technical Expert and stayed there until 2008, gaining expertise in the field.

Aki then moved on to Fixstars Corporation in 2008, serving as the GM of Software Solution Division and a board member until 2012. During their time there, they also held roles as COO and CEO at Fixstars Solutions from 2011 to 2019.

In 2019, they became the US Business lead at Sider and later took on the position of CEO until 2022.

Asahara joined GITAI in 2022 as the VP of Operations and held that role until present.

Looking towards the future, they are set to co-found SgrA*, LLC in 2023.

Aki Asahara has a background in astrophysics and business. From 2001 to 2004, they attended Kyoto University and obtained a Ph.D. in Astrophysics. In 2009 to 2010, Aki Asahara attended Waseda University and earned an MBA from the business school. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as the Certified Scrum Master and Advanced Certified ScrumMaster from the Scrum Alliance, in December 2019 and June 2021 respectively.
