Kris Decoodt

Kris Decoodt has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Kris has worked as a DAO Operations Lead at Gitcoin since January 2022, where they are responsible for community experience and cross-workstream DAO operations. Prior to that, they were the Community Experience Manager at Gitcoin, focusing on incentivization and compensation for open-source software contributors.

Before joining Gitcoin, Kris was an Advisor and Communications Lead at The Commons Stack, where they developed communication strategies and managed social media accounts. Kris also worked as a Communications Lead at Giveth.io, Aragon DAC, and Swarm City, where they were responsible for communication strategy, practical outreach, and budget management.

In addition to their experience in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space, Kris has also worked in the digital marketing industry. Kris was the Product Manager Digital at Mediafin, where they optimized digital assets and improved the user experience for readers. Kris also served as the Director of Marketing at Engagor, overseeing marketing activities in Europe and the US.

Earlier in their career, Kris worked at Microsoft as a Digital Marketing Lead and Consumer Digital Lead. Kris managed digital marketing efforts, infrastructure, and budgets for both the Belux sub-region and consumer products. Kris also worked as a Senior Account Manager at Emakina, handling key clients and digital projects.

Kris began their career at McCann Erickson as an Account Manager, where they gained experience in traditional and digital advertising.

Kris Decoodt completed a Master's degree in Multilingual Business Communication from Universiteit Gent / Vlerick Management School in 2003. Prior to that, from 1998 to 2002, Kris studied Germanic Languages with a focus on English and German at Ghent University. In 1999-2000, Kris also attended Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where they obtained a degree known as 1. Lizenz in English and German. Kris began their education journey at Sint-Barbaracollege, Gent in 1987 and completed a Latin-Modern Languages program from 1987 to 1998.
