Derek Chowaniec

Derek Chowaniec is an experienced leader in application security sales, currently serving as the Global Director of Enterprise GitHub Advanced Security Sales at GitHub since June 2021. Responsibilities include leading a team of strategic security sales specialists to drive revenue growth across the Americas. Prior to GitHub, Derek Chowaniec held several positions at Veracode, where leadership roles included Sr. Account Executive for Strategic Accounts and Sr. Solutions Architect, focusing on application security programs for major global accounts. Derek Chowaniec also has experience at IBM as a Senior Worldwide Technical Sales Specialist in Application Security and has held various engineering and leadership positions in earlier roles. A graduate of the University of Connecticut with a degree in Computer Science & Engineering, Derek Chowaniec has a strong background in sales strategy, application security, and technical leadership.
