Jim Wang

Jim Wang is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in software engineering and management. Currently serving as the VP of Software Engineering at GitHub since July 2020, Jim Wang leads efforts focused on enhancing internal developer experience after previously managing identity and billing. Prior to this role, Jim Wang held the position of Principal Group Engineering Manager at Microsoft, overseeing App Center operations, and driving significant improvements in service availability. Experience includes serving as a Software Development Manager at Amazon, where leadership was provided for the AWS load balancing team, and as Engineering Manager at CenturyLink Cloud, managing the core IaaS offerings. Jim Wang's career began at Microsoft as a Senior Software Engineer in the Azure group, developing applications that utilized Azure services. Jim Wang earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from Simon Fraser University.
