Pamela Moriarty

Pamela Moriarty is an experienced data scientist currently serving as Tech Lead and Senior Data Scientist in the Communities Data team at GitHub since July 2021. Prior to this role, Pamela held the position of Staff Data Scientist at Brightloom, where leadership was provided for the data science team and machine learning products for restaurants were designed and implemented. At Zulily, Pamela contributed as a Senior Data Scientist, developing machine learning solutions to enhance supply chain efficiency and personalize customer shopping experiences. An earlier role as a Data Science Fellow at Insight Data Science involved deploying a Chrome extension and analyzing extensive board game data. Pamela's academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Aquatic and Fishery Sciences from the University of Washington, during which statistical methods for fisheries management were developed, alongside experience as a Teaching Assistant in ecological modeling. Early career experience included building predictive models for Atlantic salmon migration at the Gulf of Maine Research Institute.
