Esther Gabriele May

Esther Gabriele May possesses extensive experience in international development and sustainable policies, currently serving as the Head of the Climate Support Programme for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH in South Africa since September 2018. As a Policy Advisor to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, responsibilities include advising on the 2030 Agenda and acting as the Gender Focal Point. Prior roles include Research Assistant at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Consultant for the Swiss Delegation to the 62nd Commission on the Status of Women, Technical Advisor at the International Planned Parenthood Federation, and multiple positions within the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, focusing on global health, gender equality, and sustainable development negotiations. Esther holds a Master's degree in Development Studies from the Geneva Graduate Institute and a Bachelor's degree in International Affairs from the University of St. Gallen.
