Matthias Daun

Matthias Daun is an experienced professional specializing in energy and climate policy, currently serving as an Advisor for the European Climate Initiative at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH since August 2015. Throughout the tenure, Matthias has conducted analyses and workshops related to UNFCCC reporting for Non-Annex I countries and provided consulting on capacity-building for national MRV systems. Prior experience includes research on sustainability and resource protection at the Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW) and involvement in green growth initiatives with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung. Matthias holds a Master's degree in Natural Resource Management from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and a Master's degree in Development Studies from The University of Manchester, along with a Bachelor of Arts in European Studies from Maastricht University.
