Kevin Smith is an experienced professional in the aerospace and defense industries, currently serving as the Defense Supplier Quality & Development Director at GKN Aerospace since August 2025. With a robust career spanning over several decades, Kevin has held numerous leadership positions including Senior Director of Quality at StandardAero and various roles at GKN Aerospace involving Quality Assurance & Compliance and Business Management Systems. Additionally, Kevin has been a World-Wide Adjunct Assistant Professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University since 2002, focusing on safety, management systems, and accident investigation. Kevin’s extensive background includes significant experience with the US Navy as a Flight Engineer and Quality Assurance specialist, as well as academic credentials including a Master's degree in Aeronautical Science and a Project Management certification.
