VP, Communications at GLAAD

Sarah Kennedy is the Vice President of Communications at GLAAD, the world’s largest LGBTQ media advocacy organization. Sarah oversees all communications efforts for the organization, including earned media, digital engagement, advocacy campaigns, and relationships with professional athletes.

Previously, Sarah was the Deputy Campaign Manager for Public Policy at Airbnb, leading communications efforts for the company’s policy initiatives. Prior to that, they were the Director of Communications at Athlete Ally, where they led teams of strategists and creatives to produce complex national and global projects for clients including the ACLU, Everytown, Habitat for Humanity, and Unilever. Sarah got their start in communications as a Senior Strategist at Purpose PBC, where they advised on crisis communications and digital strategy for clients including Autism Speaks, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, the Gill Foundation, and Protect our Democracy.

Sarah Kennedy has a BSJ from Ohio University in Journalism and a certification from Google in Digital Analytics Certificate from the Google Analytics Academy. Sarah also did a Union Summer through the AFL-CIO.
