Michael McGuire

Lecturer: Digital Construction at Glasgow Caledonian University

Michael McGuire is a seasoned professional in the field of digital construction and architectural technology, currently serving as a Lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University since August 2022. Additionally, Michael holds the position of Chief Expert in Digital Construction for WorldSkills International and serves as the WorldSkills UK Training Manager for Digital Construction/BIM. With extensive experience at the Scottish Qualifications Authority from September 2016 to August 2022, Michael chaired the Qualifications Support Team for various design and technology awards and led the development of the National Curriculum BIM qualifications. Prior roles include lecturing at New College Lanarkshire and Shotts Learning Centre, along with fabrication work at Terex and Bone Steel Ltd. Michael holds a BSc(Hons) in Architectural Technology from Edinburgh Napier University and an HND in Computer Aided Draughting and Design from Motherwell College.
