Andy Waddell

Andy Waddell is the Director of City Operations at Glasgow City Council. Andy has held this position since December 2006.

Prior to their current role, Waddell was the Roads Maintenance Manager at South Ayrshire Council from January 1996 to December 2006. Andy then worked as the General Manager at Barr Industrial from January 2006 to December 2008. In this role, they were responsible for the Operations Director for a diverse range of council services including Roads & Transportation, Cleansing & Waste, Parks, Fleet, Environmental Health, Trading Standards and Scientific Services.

Waddell began their career as an Asst Works Controller at Strathclyde Regional Council from January 1993 to December 1996. Andy then worked as a Sub-Agent at Costain from January 1989 to December 1993.

Andy Waddell studied civil engineering at Paisley University, where they earned a BEng(Hons) degree. Andy then attended James Hamilton Academy in Kilmarnock.
