Karen Zelden

Karen Zelden, CFRE, serves as the Chief Development Officer at The Glasser/Schoenbaum Human Services Center, where responsibilities include innovating a new fundraising program and implementing a marketing and communications strategy. As the founder and president of Zelden Writing and Consulting Solutions, LLC, Karen provides non-profit coaching and consulting to various organizations. Previous roles include Chief Development Officer at Aviva Senior Living and JFCS of the Suncoast, where accomplishments involved significant revenue increases and rebuilding fundraising programs. Karen has extensive experience in nonprofit communications and fundraising, having contributed to closing over $12 million in funding during tenure at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and achieving consistent fundraising goals at WakeMed. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Michigan State University and completion of paralegal studies at The George Washington University.
