Zoe Hughes-Thomas

Zoe Hughes-Thomas is an accomplished leader in biopharmaceutical automation with over 15 years of experience at GSK, currently serving as the Head of the Global Medicine Design Automation Team. In this role, Zoe leads a diverse team focused on implementing and maximizing automation platforms to enhance drug discovery across multiple sites. Zoe has successfully industrialized integrated automation solutions, optimizing workflows in various protein expression and assay processes. Previous positions include leadership roles in COVID testing lab automation, biopharm automation investments, and high throughput expression management. Zoe's earlier experience includes significant contributions to biopharmaceutical development at both GSK and Domantis, complemented by a strong academic background with a PhD from the University of Cambridge and a Master of Chemistry from the University of Oxford.
