Andrea O'Neal

Director at Glen Echo Group

Andrea O’Neal is a director with Glen Echo Group. A dedicated and driven communicator, she has experience in fast-paced, high-pressure environments and moving between long-term, big-picture planning to detail-oriented, day-to-day operations.

Previously, Andrea was the Senior Manager of Communications for National Geographic Society’s Impact Programs, elevating projects and partnerships aimed at expanding scientific discoveries, educating the public on the extinction crisis and conserving some of the planet’s last wild places.

Prior to that role, Andrea was an Account Supervisor on the Public Affairs & Crisis team for Burson Cohn and Wolfe, the third largest PR agency in the world. As a mid-level executive, Andrea was responsible for specializing in reputation management, and providing strategic counsel for Fortune 100 companies. In times of crisis, she helped with crisis resistance, readiness, response and recovery.

Andrea has experience in positioning executives and campaigns within the Washington, D.C. landscape—particularly through the use of events. She has successfully helped support the media components of strategic communications campaigns for a broad range of global brands, establishing relationships with targeted media and working to place clients into top-tier and local publications. She has an affinity for diversity and inclusion efforts, and has pulled together initiatives to champion minority communities and amplify corporate community work.

A proud ‘Cane alumna, Andrea graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communication from the University of Miami.
