Barbara Elkins is an experienced library professional currently serving as a Youth Services Librarian at Glenview Public Library since January 2013, where responsibilities include providing readers’ advisory, reference, and collection development assistance. Prior experience includes serving as a School Librarian at St. Stanislaus Kostka School from November 2013 to June 2015, delivering bibliographic instruction and resources to students and staff. From 2005 to 2011, Barbara worked as a School Library Media Specialist at Hilton Head Island Elementary School for the Creative Arts, managing the library program to support over 780 students in grades 1-5 and enrich the arts-integrated curriculum. Barbara's career began as a Media Assistant at Hilton Head Island Elementary School in 2004-2005. Barbara holds a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition Services from Mount Mary University.
